Access to services

The geography of West Sussex offers a series of challenges for us when it comes to ensuring everyone can access quality health services.

West Sussex is a large county with a variety of large towns and many smaller, scattered villages. It is one of our top priorities to ensure people can easily access high-quality health services – wherever they live.

NHS West Sussex has been working with partner organisations across the county to explore the issues that people who live in rural areas face when accessing NHS health services.

Rural access workshops

NHS West Sussex held Rural Access Workshops in 2009 to raise awareness of the issue among various organisations in West Sussex.

The delegate papers for the workshops can be found below. Themes included access needs across services including health, social services and education.

We teamed up with Horsham Partnerships for Older People to produce guides for people to access health services.
